Every year, World Disability Day or International Day of the Disabled (as it is called now) is celebrated, to spread AWARENESS about the key issues, challenges, faced by people with disabilities. To LIVE A LIFE WITH SELF ESTEEM & DIGNITY, there are many social issues, which need the attention of the community and Government / Municipality.
If the schools prepare inclusive study patterns for Able & Disabled beneficiaries, along with physical adaptations and special education with therapy requirements, all the beneficiaries develop an attitude of helping these differently able beneficiaries, and this creates a future of INCLUSIVE SOCIETY & they too get the confidence to face the world and move on in life, fruitfully.
Such important issues concerning this minority population, who are almost invisible, are brought up through Seminars & Workshops, Awareness Walk in Public and such other events EVERY YEAR to highlight the message to the general public. We seek the help of media too ..

Refreshments & Gifts soon follow, to make it VERY SPECIAL for those who, besides training them, take care of all their physical & mental needs throughout the year; also help parents to cope up with challenges in bringing them up.

STRIDE 1
The year 2014, our World Disability Day was celebrated as STRIDE 1, at the Renaissance Hotel Lawns, Powai, with a luminous Model walk on stage – the difference was the Models were our own Trainees, dressed in the best colours and designs, walking with crutches, being on wheel chairs, etc., Hand – in Hand with their able bodied Partners (Volunteers !!). An ideal Awareness event to showcase INCLUSION.
There was also a Dance program by the disciples of Sanskriti Academy of Fine Arts.

In the year, 2018, we organized one more STRIDE at Sri Shanmukhananda Hall, Matunga.
Leading Fashion Designing Institute partnered with us to design clothes for our trainees to participate in a FASHION Show! Many famous Designers joined hands to make this happen, where our differently able youngsters walked the RAMP along with the professional Models !!

While it is very essential for NGOs like us to raise funds to meet our requirements on a regular basis, we generally organize a FUND RAISING EVENT once a year, to raise sufficient funds to meet the yearly deficiencies.
Klub Nostalgia organizes music programs for this purpose, sometimes during our Founders Day and sometime separately.

Founders’ Day is celebrated every year in or around January, as the organization was founded on January 15th, 2002. It is a day full of joy for all of us, trainees, parents, staff members, trustees and our well wishers; to come together and celebrate the day with a lot of excitement and happiness.
The trainees and the teachers work hard for over 2 months to select, practice and perform different items to entertain the guests, who come from all fields of life to encourage us!
19th Founders Day celebrations had to be ONLINE, as everything has been, due to the COVID 19 Pandemic. Nevertheless, our youngsters, their parents and teachers, stood up to the challenge and gave us excellent performance..

18th Founders Day was celebrated in a new hall in Airoli and saw nearly 400 guests (including parents , volunteers and well wishers). Each & everyone enjoyed the program put up in a new format, which was very much appreciated.

A free Assessment Camp was conducted on Saturday the 7th May, 2022 at GOD’S Abode, Airoli Centre. The main purpose of the camp was to spread awareness for families of beneficiaries and adults with special needs in the Community. The awareness was spread via Posters; ads and thro all other social media platforms.
Advance preparations were completed after multiple meetings involving all Management Staff; Teachers and Therapists. The Assessment Form was designed in a such a manner, so as to capture even the minute details.
The Camp was organised in the Centre's premises on the 1st and 4th floor. The Camp began at 10 am and concluded at 4 pm. It was a well planned Camp. Many families from the Central & Western suburbs attended the Camp with their wards.
The main objective of the Camp was to highlight the importance of Early Detection & Action Plan for Rehabilitation of PWDs and to enable Parents avail our Centre's facilities and Services for Day Care and Life Care.
